Day 1
- Drive from Lisbon to Óbidos, a beautiful walled city where the famous portuguese sour cherry liqueur (Ginjinha) is from. Wall around the town with your Guide and see the most iconic places there
- Continue to Nazaré, a fishing village that has become famous for the highest waves in the world which can be seen during between November and February. Enjoy the amazing views from the top of the town and have lunch at a local restaurant
- From Nazaré, we will drive to Aveiro, known for its art noveau buildings and the canals that surround the city. Here you can take a Moliceiro boat ride (traditional gondola-type boat from this town) around the canals and try the traditional sweets (Ovos Moles - Sweet Eggs and Tripa - a fluffy crepe)
- Drive from Aveiro to Porto, where we will spend the night
Day 2
- Drive from Porto to the Douro Valley region
- Have a wine tasting at one of the wine estates facing the Douro river, with local meats and cheeses
- Enjoy a Douro River cruise on a traditional "Rabelo" boat - those that used to trasnport the wine barrels to Porto and Gaia, where they were stored, ages and then shipped worldwide
- Stop for photos at different viewpoints and overlook the wine estates
- Return to Porto
Day 3
- Start your day with a walking tour around the city of Porto to see the main highlights
- Walk along the riverfront and see the old neighborhoods of Sé and Ribeira
- Have a wine tasting at one of the wine houses accross the river in the city of Gaia, where Port wine is stored
- Drive back to Lisbon, where we will spend the next 2 nights
Our itinerary is always flexible — tell your driver if you want to cut it short or add different stops
If you skip monument visits, we can add secret viewpoints and spots only locals know about
